1. Who we are
This website is operated by Baker and Co Associates LDA, a Portuguese private limited company with its office at Av. António Augusto de Aguiar, n.º 24, 3.º Esq., Office 14, Lisbon, Portugal (“Baker & Co”, “we”). Baker & Co is a management and immigration consultancy.
2. Our services
We support, organise and coordinate visa, residence, citizenship, company formation and administrative processes in Portugal. Acts reserved to lawyers, such as drafting contracts and representation in legal proceedings, when your case needs them, are performed by an independent lawyer registered with the Ordem dos Advogados, with whom the client has the corresponding professional relationship.
3. Information on this site
The content of this site is general information, was reviewed on the date shown on each page and cites official sources. It does not replace a review of your specific case. Rules and figures can change; we always confirm what applies to you before starting a process.
4. Free assessment and proposal
The initial assessment is free and does not oblige you to hire us. Services only start after you accept in writing a proposal setting out the scope, fees, expected expenses and timings.
5. Fees and expenses
Fees are as stated in the proposal. Official fees (consulates, AIMA, registries, tax office), translations, apostilles, fees of lawyers, notaries or certified accountants and other third-party costs are paid by the client, unless the proposal says otherwise.
6. Client obligations
The client undertakes to provide true, complete and up-to-date information and authentic documents, and to tell us about any relevant change. The quality of the file depends on the information we receive.
7. Decisions by authorities
Decisions on visas, residence permits, citizenship and registrations rest solely with the competent authorities. We commit to preparing your file with the utmost care so that it is as strong as it can be.
8. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer and enter into the contract at a distance or off-premises, you may withdraw within 14 days under Decree-Law 24/2014. If you ask for the service to start before that period ends, you pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
9. Liability
We are liable for the services we provide as set out in the law. We are not liable for delays or decisions by authorities, or for the acts of independent third parties, including lawyers, notaries, accountants and banks, who are liable under their own professional rules.
10. Personal data
We process your data in line with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
11. Complaints and dispute resolution
You can complain through the Electronic Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações) or by email to info@bakerandco.pt. For consumer disputes you may use an alternative dispute resolution body: CNIACC or the Lisbon Consumer Arbitration Centre. More at consumidor.gov.pt.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights, the courts of Lisbon have jurisdiction.
